Culinary Crossroads is a printed publication situated between a cookbook and an artist’s book. It is the result of a community-based artistic project by Lenka Holíková, developed in Templin, Germany, with the support of Eryca Willinger, within the framework of the artistic residency In the Fields, organized by Libken and subsidized by the European Union.

The participating women and girls and I formed a beautiful mixture of cultures, nations, traditions, and experiences. We met on seven occasions in a community kitchen provided by the Stephanus Stiftung foundation, where we selected and cooked recipes that were meaningful to each of us—recipes connected to memories and emotions associated with home.

The experience was documented through photography, text, drawing, and sound, and resulted in a series of drawings and short texts that accompany the recipes.
