Conversations is composed of eight acrylic boxes, vertically aligned. Each box contains a notebook with handwritten transcriptions made by the artist using a dip pen and India ink.
The texts gather fragments of conversations held with people who chose to share the journey that led them from their home to Graz, the place they now inhabit. The transcriptions revisit certain elements, words, and memories that the artist senses as meaningful within each narrative.
The gesture of hand transcription introduces a slow, embodied rhythm, transforming the spoken word into a visual trace. Calligraphy thus becomes a space of encounter between the voice of the one who narrates and that of the one who listens or reads…
