FROM THE SERIES TOTALITARIAN ABC-DARY
In the series “IXTY XTIY TIXY”, I cover the paper with graphite and, through perforations made with a nail or a needle, I “write” the four letters of my Totalitarian ABC-dary.
The letters appear transparently against a black background, while on the reverse they are almost imperceptible.
The work is based on two essential processes: perforation and illumination. By piercing the paper, the incisions capture light, revealing hidden truths embedded in the gaze of the old meshes—silent witnesses to the crimes committed along heavily guarded borders.

IXTY XTIY TIXY/ TOTALITARIAN ABC-DARY; 2020; Series of graphite drawings with perforations: paper, graphite, nail; 42 × 59.4 cm; Santa Inés Ahuatempan, Puebla, Mexico.
